BannedPantry participates in affiliate programs. When you click a product link marked “(affiliate)” and make a purchase, BannedPantry may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This helps keep the scanner free and the ingredient database updated.
“Our scores are never influenced by brands or affiliate relationships.”
Every Safe / Caution / Avoid score on BannedPantry is determined exclusively by the ingredient’s regulatory status and peer-reviewed safety data from EFSA, FDA, Health Canada, and similar bodies. Brands cannot pay to improve their score. Affiliate commissions are not considered when writing ingredient assessments or recommending alternatives.
Safer alternative products are selected because they are genuinely free from the flagged ingredients — not because they pay higher affiliate commissions. We may feature products with zero affiliate relationship if they are the safest choice.
bannedpantry-20 tag.Affiliate links are clearly labeled with a small (affiliate) superscript next to the link text. The footer of every page also includes: “BannedPantry earns from qualifying purchases. This never influences our ratings.”
