Common questions
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Sign in, go to Account, and click Manage Subscription. You can also email us and we'll cancel for you. Cancellations take effect at the end of your billing period.
The barcode scanner isn't recognizing my product. What do I do?
Try the photo-OCR scanner instead — it reads the ingredient list directly from the label. If a product is still missing, email us the brand and product name and we'll add it within 48 hours.
How is BannedPantry different from Yuka or EWG?
BannedPantry focuses specifically on ingredients banned or restricted in the EU, UK, Canada, Japan, or California but still legal in the US. Every flag cites the actual regulation. Other apps rate hazards broadly — we answer one specific question: would this be illegal to sell overseas?
What does Pro include?
Unlimited barcode scans, unlimited OCR label scans, Pantry Audit PDF exports, Reflag Alerts when ingredients change, and family profiles. Pro is $3.25/mo billed yearly ($39/yr) or $4.99/mo. Free plan stays free — 5 barcode scans + 2 OCR scans per day.
Do you sell my scan data?
No. Never. See our privacy policy for the full details. Scan history is stored only to power your own pantry view.
How do I request my data be deleted?
Email [email protected] from the email on your account with the subject "Delete my data". We process deletions within 7 days.
Mobile app support
For issues with the BannedPantry iOS or Android app — crashes, login problems, push notifications, or scanner accuracy — email us with your device model and OS version. Screenshots help a lot.
