Open the app and tap Scan. Point your camera at the barcode on any US grocery item. You'll get a Safe / Caution / Avoid score with citations to FDA, EFSA, and Health Canada sources. You can also tap "Photo OCR" to read an ingredient panel directly when there's no barcode.
Our database covers most US grocery items but new SKUs and small brands take time to catalog. If a barcode doesn't resolve, tap "Report this product" and we'll add it within 48 hours. You can also use Photo OCR to scan the ingredient panel directly.

We flag ingredients that are restricted, banned, or carry warning labels in the European Union, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, or California. Every flag includes a direct citation to the regulatory source — EFSA, Health Canada, the UK FSA, Japan's MHLW, or California Prop 65. We do not make health claims; we report regulatory facts.

Pro members can add up to 6 family members with age, pregnancy status, and known allergies. The scanner adjusts flags based on each profile — pregnancy mode escalates caffeine and certain dyes; child profiles flag artificial colors more strictly. Switch between profiles from the Family tab.
Pro members get Pantry Audit PDFs — a printable report of every product you've scanned with scores and flagged ingredients grouped by category. Generate one from the Account tab → Export Pantry Audit.
