Washington bans 4 food additives that remain legal in the rest of the US, under Washington HB 1086 (proposed) — bans Red 3, BVO, potassium bromate, propylparaben. The ban takes effect January 2027. Manufacturers must reformulate products sold in Washington or pull them from shelves.
