Cheerios ingredients: what's banned overseas?

Parent company: General Mills

About Cheerios

Cheerios is marketed as a wholesome, heart-healthy cereal. However, the Environmental Working Group's 2018 and 2019 testing found glyphosate residues in Honey Nut Cheerios and regular Cheerios at levels the organization says exceed California safety levels for children. Glyphosate was classified by IARC as a probable human carcinogen (Group 2A) in 2015. Original Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios do not contain synthetic dyes, but the glyphosate residue question has placed the brand under regulatory scrutiny.
