About CLIF Bar
CLIF Bar is a leading US energy and nutrition bar brand offering primarily organic, plant-based bars targeting athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. The brand uses 70% organic ingredients and avoids high-fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors in its core products. CLIF Bar is sold at grocery chains, specialty outdoor stores, and mass retailers nationwide.
Common concerns with CLIF Bar products
CLIF Bars use soy protein isolate, which can contain trace amounts of processing chemicals and is manufactured through a hexane extraction process. The bars contain multiple forms of added sugar (brown rice syrup, cane syrup, tapioca syrup) to dilute individual sugar rankings on the label. Some flavors use alkalized (Dutched) cocoa, which can contain elevated 4-MEI. The brand is significantly cleaner than conventional bars but is not free from all processing concerns.
