Froot Loops ingredients: what's banned overseas?

Parent company: Kellanova (formerly Kellogg's)

About Froot Loops

Froot Loops is perhaps the most widely cited example of the US-UK cereal ingredient double standard. The US version of Kellogg's Froot Loops contains Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, and Blue 1 — four synthetic petroleum-derived dyes that require hyperactivity warning labels in the EU and UK. The UK version of the same cereal uses spirulina extract (blue-green), beta-carotene (yellow-orange), carrot extract (orange), and other natural colorants to achieve a similar appearance without synthetic dyes.
