Miracle Whip ingredients: what's banned overseas?
Parent company: Kraft Heinz
About Miracle Whip
Miracle Whip is a salad dressing / spread product produced by Kraft Heinz, sold at grocery chains and mass retailers across the US since 1933. It is technically not mayonnaise (which requires a minimum oil content) but is positioned as a tangy, lower-fat alternative. It is one of the most recognizable condiment brands in the US.
Common concerns with Miracle Whip products
Miracle Whip contains high-fructose corn syrup as a primary sweetener, modified corn starch, and vinegar and eggs likely derived from genetically engineered crops. The soybean oil base comes from GMO soybeans. The presence of HFCS as a key ingredient in what is marketed as a mayo-style spread is a notable concern. Kraft Heinz has not announced plans to reformulate Miracle Whip away from HFCS.
