Mounds is a dark chocolate and coconut candy bar produced by The Hershey Company, the sister product to Almond Joy sold at grocery chains and convenience stores across the US since 1920. It is one of the oldest Hershey candy brands still in wide distribution and uses dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate.

Common concerns with Mounds products

Mounds shares similar concerns with Almond Joy: use of PGPR as a cocoa butter extender, processed palm kernel oil, and artificial flavors. The dark chocolate coating uses alkalized cocoa. High added sugar content is a consistent concern. Mounds does not contain synthetic color dyes, which is a relative advantage over many other candy brands.
