About Quaker
Quaker Oats is one of the most recognized oat and grain food brands in the US, owned by PepsiCo since 2001. The brand produces oatmeal, granola bars, grits, rice cakes, pancake mixes, and Cap'n Crunch cereals. Quaker products are sold at virtually every US grocery chain and mass retailer, generating over $3 billion annually within PepsiCo's portfolio.
Common concerns with Quaker products
EWG testing found glyphosate residues in Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats and Quaker Instant Oatmeal, with levels exceeding EWG's own safety benchmark of 160 ppb in some samples, though PepsiCo maintains levels are within FDA/EPA regulatory limits. Cap'n Crunch (also Quaker) contains BHT and artificial dyes. Quaker granola bars contain added sugars, natural flavors, and in some varieties BHT. The brand does not use synthetic dyes in its core oatmeal products.
