Food ingredients banned in Texas (2027)

Texas bans 9 food additives that remain legal in the rest of the US, under Texas SB 25 (Make Texas Healthy Again) — signed June 2025. The ban takes effect January 2027. Manufacturers must reformulate products sold in Texas or pull them from shelves.

Background

Texas SB 25 (Make Texas Healthy Again), signed by Governor Abbott June 2025, requires warning labels on 44 food additives banned/restricted in other countries starting January 2027. Schools must phase out artificial dyes by 2027.
